Kenya Roads Board is mandated to oversee the road network and thereby coordinate is development, maintenance funded by the fund and advise the Minister for Roads on all matters related thereto. The KRB Fund comprises of Road Maintenance Levy, Toll Collections and Agricultural cess.

In the FY 2008/2009 approximately Kshs. 19 Billion was collected and disbursed. In the current financial year to March, 2010, KRB has released over Kshs. 14 billion towards maintenance of various categories of roads. KRB has continued to ensure that value for money is achieved in road maintenance.
